Stop charging the electric vehicle

#Hertz-EV - Polestar 2

Stop charging (alternating current)

You can stop charging at any time by pressing the button on the charging socket or by tapping the corresponding button on the centre display.

  1. Stop charging using the button on the charging socket, whereupon the engaged charging nozzle will unlock.
  2. Disconnect the charging cable from the vehicle's charging socket and close the flap.
  3. Disconnect the charging caklbe from the charging station or connect the permanently mounted charging cable to the charging station's socket.

⚠ Important:

  • Charging must be stopped before disconnecting the charging cable from the vehicle's charging socket. If the charging cable is disconnected without stopping charging, the charging cable or system may be damaged.

Charging cable automatically locks into place

If the charging cable is not disconnected from the charging socket, it will automatically re-lock a moment after unlocking to achieve maximum charging. The charging cable can be disconnected after it has been unlocked with the button on the charging socket or via the centre display.

Stop rapid charging (direct current)

  1. Rapid charging is stopped via the button on the vehicle's charging socket, via the button in the centre display or via the control panel at the charging station.
  2. Disconnect the charging cable from the vehicle's charging socket and close the flap.
  3. Reconnect the charging cable to the charging station's storage socket or hang it up in the designated location.

Unlocking the vehicle during rapid charging

Normally, rapid charging is not interrupted by unlocking the vehicle. However, if rapid charging is interrupted, it will not be resumed automatically, because the charging station requires reauthorisation of charging via the control panel. After rapid charging has been interrupted, the charging cable does not automatically lock again. Restart interrupted rapid charging by disconnecting the charging cable from the vehicle's charging socket, reconnecting it and then following the instructions on the charging station's control panel.

⚠ Important:

  • Never attempt to disconnect the charging cable from the vehicle while charging. Always stop charging first: This automatically unlocks the vehicle's charging socket and allows you to disconnect the charging cable.

Problems removing the charging nozzle

If the charging nozzle is not released after charging, the following measures are recommended:

  1.  via the button on the charging socket
  2.  by tapping the vehicle symbol and then charge and unlock cable on the centre display
  3. according to the instructions on the charging station's control panel
  4. Stop charging at the charging station or wall socket and repeat step 1.
  5. Charging at a charging station: Contact the charging station's customer service for assistance stopping charging.
  6. Charging at your own charging station: Interrupt the power supply to the charging station in a safe manner.
  7. Charging from a wall socket: Disconnect the power supply to the wall socket in a safe manner.
  8. Gently jiggle the charging nozzle and repeat step 1.
  9. Lock and unlock the vehicle. Then repeat step 1.
