Charging at a charging station

#Hertz-EV - Polestar 2

Charging at a charging station

1. Remove the charging cable from the charging station's storage socket or take out your own charging cable. Switch off the ignition before charging.

2. Connect the charging cable to the charging station. If the charging station has a permanent charging cable, continue on to step 3.

3. Open the charging flap on the left-hand side of the vehicle by pressing on the rear part of the flap.

4. Remove the protective cover from the charging nozzle and push the charging nozzle into the charging socket of the vehicle as far as it will go.

5. The charging nozzle will lock into place and charging will start after about 5 seconds..

⇒ When charging starts, the LED light on the charging socket flashes green.

The expected remaining charging time and any errors are shown on the driver's display and the centre display.

Make sure that the set current on the centre display does not exceed the maximum current of the charging station.

When charging, condensation may drip from the air conditioner under the vehicle. This is due to the cooling of the high-voltage battery.

⚠ Important:

  • If the charging cable is connected and children are in the vicinity, they must be supervised.
  • The charging cable carries high voltage. Contact with high voltage can lead to serious injury or death.
  • A charging cable that is damaged in any way must never be used. A damaged or non-functioning charging cable may only be repaired by an authorised workshop. Please contact your local Hertz office for further information.
  • Always ensure that no one can drive over, step on, trip over or otherwise damage the charging cable or cause injury to the charging cable.
  • The use of one or more adapters between the charging cable and the socket is not permitted.
  • Do not connect any adapters between the charging cable and the vehicle.
  • Do not wash the vehicle while the charging cable is connected or the charging flap is open.

Rapid charging (direct current)

1. Remove the charging cable from the charging station's storage socket. Switch off the ignition before charging.

2. Open the charging flap. Remove the charging socket's protective cover.

3. Grasp the charging nozzle with both hands and insert it into the vehicle's charging socket as far as it will go. Hold the charging nozzle upward for a few seconds. After a few seconds, the charging cable will automatically lock into the charging socket.

4. Follow the instructions on the charging station control panel to authorise charging. Charging starts after the charging station has carried out an insulation test. This can take about a minute.

⇒ After charging has started, the LED on the charging socket flashes green. The expected remaining charging time and any errors are shown on the driver's display and the centre display.
