In 1918, over 100 years ago, Hertz was founded in the USA. Since then, the company has developed into one of the largest car rental companies in the world. Hertz has been present in Switzerland since 1952, when it celebrated its European debut by opening its first station in Lucerne. Since 2012, Herold Fahrzeugvermietung AG, a subsidiary of the Emil Frey Group, has been operating the Swiss Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty business as an international Hertz country licensee. With over 125 models from more than 25 brands with an average age of just three months, Hertz Switzerland's range includes not only the most diverse, but also one of the youngest and most attractive fleets of passenger cars and commercial vehicles in the country. In addition, there is a nationwide branch network with around 50 locations.
